Beginner and experienced anglers from across the tri-state can test their skills at the first tournament of the 2013 Bass Series on Sunday, May 19, 2013, 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at Winton Woods.

Competitors can fish solo or bring a buddy for a two-person team. Entry fees are $60 per team and includes boat rental. Advanced registration is not required, and sign-ups begin the morning of the tournament at 6 a.m.

The top three teams in each tournament will receive prize certificates good for any of the Hamilton County Park District boathouses. The angler that brings in the biggest bass of the tournament will receive a Bass Pro Shops gift card.

The Bass Series has been one of area’s most popular fishing tournaments for more than 30 years. Kicking off at Winton Woods on May 19, the series continues at different Hamilton County Park District lakes throughout the summer. Contestants earn points at six qualifying tournaments, with the top 20 anglers qualifying for the Championship and a shot at a $1,000 Bass Pro gift card.
