Fishing Report: January 2017
Early Bass Bite
With such a mild winter so far, Great Parks’ lakes have been consistently ice-free. When the 50 and 60 degree weather hits, anglers have been making it count at Campbell Lakes Preserve. The recent warm temperatures had the big fish active. Cole Frondorf from Westwood caught a 21.5 inch large-mouth bass with his homemade jerk bait, which he airbrushed to look like a shad. Bill Woodall and Dave Whittle also caught some nice bass at Campbell Lake Preserve in January on crankbaits.
Spring is quickly approaching and so are the opening days for the boathouses:
Lake Isabella: March 3
Miami Whitewater Forest: March 3
Winton Woods: March 11
Sharon Woods: March 25
