First Panfish Cup Postponed
As of this morning, we still have complete ice coverage from shoreline to shoreline at Miami Whitewater Forest. Warm rain is helping to thaw it, but there are parts of the lake that has ice up to 8 inches thick. Because of these unsafe conditions, we have made the decision to postpone the first Panfish Cup fishing tournament until Saturday, March 21.
That tournament will run from 8 a.m.−1 p.m. The cost to enter is $40 per team. Anglers will fish for crappie and bluegill, there is no bag limit and the greatest weight wins. The first three placed teams will receive Great Parks prize certificates and trophies. The winner will also receive a Bass Pro Shops gift card.
Miami Whitewater Forest Lake is scheduled to be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in March. As soon as the lake is ice free we will begin renting boats. Please call 513-367-9632 for information.
