July is Parks and Recreation Month! We’re also celebrating our 90th birthday this July. While we can’t celebrate with you in person right now, we’re commemorating these occasions in a different way: Meet the faces behind Great Parks of Hamilton County. Learn more about the people who are passionate about bringing you the best experience every time you visit your favorite Great Park.
Meet Samantha Center, Animal Care Coordinator
How long have you worked for Great Parks of Hamilton County?
Three years.
What first interested you in working in parks and recreation?
I love people, animals and the outdoors!
What is a typical day at work like for you?
One of my favorite things about my job is there is no “typical” day. The animals are always keeping me on my toes!
How does your work directly impact park guests?
The animals are the main reason guests come out to Parky’s Farm. My job is to make sure the animals are well-cared for and stay healthy and happy for guests to enjoy!
What is your favorite part of your job?
The wonderful people and animals I get to work with.
Who do you spend the most time with outside of work?
My husband Josh and 18-month-old daughter Raelynn.
Do you have a favorite spot in Great Parks?
Shawnee Lookout.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Hiking and exploring with my three dogs and hanging out with my horse.
