The white spruce (Picea glauca) is an evergreen, meaning it is a plant that has leaves throughout the year that are always green. And these trees can grow to be quite large – white spruces typically reach anywhere between 50 to 130 feet tall.

You may have come across a white spruce tree without realizing it. White spruces are primarily used for pulpwood and paper, as well as used as lumber in construction of houses, furniture, musical instruments and more.
