Bass Fishing League Champions Crowned!

All

The final Sharon Woods Bass Fishing League tournament was held yesterday evening, and Jody Andrzejewsjki and Curtis Pendergrass of Team Penderski were crowned as the new champions. They won a $500 shopping spree to Bass Pro Shops, an automatic entry into the Bass Series Championship and two annual boat passes. Pretty impressive for a few fun weeks of fishing!

Winton Woods Lake will host two tournaments this weekend. The Panfish Cup is on Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If conditions remain stable, I expect another huge weigh-in. It will probably take 50 pounds or more to win!

Winton Woods is also hosting the first Bass Series tournament of 2013. The tournament is on Sunday, May 19, and runs from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Winton Woods Lake has been flooded over the past couple weeks. This means there hasn’t been very much fishing pressure, which is a very good thing when it comes to bass fishing. The fish are in a post-spawn pattern, which means that they will be chasing, and I look for crankbaits to be a major player. I expect the top 10 teams to bring five bass limits to the scales, and I think that it will take 10 to 12 pounds to win.

If Winton Lake is flooded, then the tournaments will be moved to Miami Whitewater Forest Lake. That information will be available on the website or by calling Winton Woods Boathouse at 513-931-1849.
