Replay: Winter Solstice Snowflake Craft

Join us on our Facebook page every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. for a live video with Great Parks staff! We’ll have story time, take nature walks, meet ambassador animals and more. We’ll post replays here in case you miss one, and don’t hesitate to comment on past videos – we’ll keep answering questions in the comments!

The winter solstice is officially here! Outreach Manager Sarah and Nature Interpreter Ashely are at Nature Center at the Summit to celebrate the changing of the seasons. Follow along in the video below as Sarah and Ashely show you how to make your own snowflakes at home with this fun craft anyone can do! All you need is some coffee filters or paper and scissors. For young children, we recommend a parent or caregiver help with this paper snowflake craft.

This year’s winter solstice is an especially momentous occasion – the rare “Christmas Star” is making an appearance for the first time in nearly 800 years.
