So, grab your Passport, pick a challenge (or a few) and start making your way through 23 unique destinations.
SOLO EXPLORER
There’s a special sense of freedom that comes with exploring at your own pace. No schedules to coordinate, no compromises on location – just you and the outdoors. Whether you’re recharging after a busy week or simply needing some quiet time, these challenges are all about you calling the shots.

1. Birdwatch at Shaker Trace Wetland
Miami Whitewater Forest
Grab some binoculars and see what you can spot! Shaker Trace Wetlands is one of the best places at Great Parks to observe birds and other wildlife, with a viewing shelter overlooking a secluded landscape. Walk along the Outer Loop Trail, enjoy the view and remember to note any animals that you see.
2. Go Mountain Biking
Mitchell Memorial Forest
Up for a challenge? Mitchell Memorial Forest is home to Hamilton County’s first purpose-built mountain biking trail, with routes designed for intermediate and advanced riders. Looking for something a little less intense? The nearby skills course is a great place to practice, build confidence and see what you can do.

3. Read a Book Under a Shady Tree
Winton Woods
Not every adventure needs to get your heart racing. Stop at the Greenhills Public Library on your way in, find a tree that speaks to you and spend some time getting lost in a story. Whether it’s for one chapter or an entire afternoon, Winton Woods is a great place to slow down.
COUPLES
Some of the best memories start with a simple invitation: “Want to go outside?”
Whether you’re planning a date, exploring a new trail or simply enjoying a few hours outdoors, these challenges are a great excuse to try something new together.

4. Stroll Along the Ohio River
Fernbank Park
With more than a mile of scenic riverfront, Fernbank Park is one of the few places in the Cincinnati region where you can get this close to the water. Take a walk, find a bench and enjoy the view. The best dates can often be the simplest ones.
5. Try an Adventure Program Together
Winton Woods
Looking for something more exciting than dinner and a movie? Trying an adventure program is a great way to switch things up. From kayaking and archery to other outdoor experiences, you’ll learn something new, challenge yourselves and make a few memories along the way.

6. Bring Your Dog Along for the Date
Otto Armleder Park & Miami Whitewater Forest
If your four-legged friend is always looking for their next adventure, bring them with you! Visit Otto Armleder Dog Park or Simmonds Family Dog Park at Miami Whitewater Forest, the largest dog park in the Cincinnati region. It’s a great excuse to get outside together while letting your pup burn off some energy.

Groups & Families
Parks are for everyone, so why not bring everyone? Whether it’s a family outing, a picnic with friends or an afternoon spent exploring somewhere new, these challenges are all about sharing the outdoors with your people.
7. Explore (and Make Some Music) at Highfield Discovery Garden
Glenwood Gardens

Exploration awaits at every turn throughout Highfield Discovery Garden. Let your imagination guide you along whimsical, winding pathways through seven themed garden spaces. Be sure to stop by the Music Garden and make a little noise because, let’s be honest, that’s fun no matter how old you are!

8. Book a Group Tee Time
Multiple Locations
Whether you’re planning a round with friends, bringing the family along or introducing someone to the game, a day on the golf course is always time well spent. Book a tee time at one of Great Parks’ beautiful courses and enjoy a few hours outdoors together. Bonus points if you can keep the ball on the green!

9. Have a Picnic With Friends
Sharon Woods | Pavillion Grove Shelter
Good food always tastes a little better outside. Pack a picnic and spend an afternoon at Pavilion Grove Shelter in Sharon Woods, the very first structure built by Great Parks in 1932. Nearly a century later, it’s still a great place to gather, relax and make a few memories with friends.
Need a little more room? Great Parks offers shelters of all sizes throughout the Cincinnati region, making it easy to gather.

However you prefer to spend time outdoors, there’s a challenge on this list (and many more on each Passport page) with your name on it. Ready to get started? Grab your free Park Passport today at any Great Parks visitor center, or order one online (shipping fees apply).
