Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo

The Great Parks Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo, one of the largest free outdoor education events for children in the Midwest, will welcome thousands of participants to Winton Woods Harbor on Friday, July 15, in a day full of hands-on activities, educational nature experiences and fun on the water.

Activity areas at the Adventure Expo will be available from 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m., and organized into three categories: Let’s Move, Let’s Explore and Let’s Splash.

Let’s Move areas will encourage kids to keep moving through stations such as an inflatable maze, gaga ball games, climbing wall and kids’ yoga. Let’s Explore will include making discoveries through engaging programs from Great Parks Interpreters, walks on the Winton Woods Harbor Loop Trail, learning about protecting wetlands with Oxbow Inc., joining a drum circle and learning about the care of farm animals with the Parky’s Farm staff. Let’s Splash will focus on Winton Lake, with paddling raft rides and fishing.

The Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo will also feature live entertainment to engage kids at the Winton Woods Amphitheater, including magic, acrobats and jugglers. Pones, Inc., will conduct a live dancing clinic. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital will have a booth focused on nutrition and avoiding sports injuries. Great Parks golf professionals will also host a golf teaching area.

This year’s Adventure Expo returns for the first time since 2019. Great Parks welcomes groups from the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, Whole Again, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and other summer camp providers. Individual families are also encouraged to attend the free event. Walk-ups will be welcome, and each activity is first-come, first-served. Guests should dress for the weather, including the possibility of getting wet on Winton Lake.

Great Parks thanks the many sponsors who make the Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo possible, especially Presenting Sponsor the Carol Anne and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation. Additional support is provided by Morgan’s Outdoor Adventures, the Charles H. Dater Foundation, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Interact for Health, the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and Cincinnati Metro.

The Adventure Expo will take place rain or shine at Winton Woods Harbor, 801 Lakeview Dr., Cincinnati. More information is available on the Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo special events webpage.
