A grove of trees line a park. It is fall, so there are no leaves on the tree branches.

Great Parks of Hamilton County announces the new park at 2918 Werk Road will open for walk-in access starting on April 1, 2022. The 22-acre property in Westwood will be the 22nd park under Great Parks’ stewardship.

The park will be open dawn to dusk, and visitors will be welcome to walk or hike along a mowed path that Great Parks will maintain. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a 6-foot leash. No parking or bathroom facilities are available at this time.

Since acquiring the former Gamble Estate, Great Parks has taken steps to make the site safe for visitors, including an evaluation of the tree canopy and mitigation of detectable hazards. The park had remained closed while this work was underway.

Great Parks Rangers are patrolling the property. Because the site has no parking, Great Parks is encouraging guests to walk or take public transit to reach the park. Bicycles and vehicles are prohibited inside the park.

Great Parks will begin working with the community this summer to develop a master plan for the park’s future programs, features and amenities. Information about the property is available at the Werk Road Property webpage.
