Caren Laverty to Serve as President of Great Parks Board of Park Commissioners

Caren Laverty has been appointed to serve as president of the Board of Park Commissioners for Great Parks of Hamilton County. Her two-year term as president began on January 3, 2022. She was first appointed to the Board in January 2021 and is only the second female Commissioner to serve as president.

“I am excited to take on this new role with Great Parks, especially at a time when parks and outdoor spaces have risen to such heightened importance in the growth of strong and healthy communities,” Ms. Laverty said.

Ms. Laverty, who lives in Montgomery, has over 13 years’ experience in the investment business and is now focused on teaching women the fundamentals of financial investing. She is the author of two books and founder of her financial blog, carenlaverty.com. Laverty is active in the Greater Cincinnati community and volunteers at NewPath Child & Family Solutions working with young adults in the Independent Living program. She is a graduate of Miami University.

Great Parks Board of Park Commissioners are appointed by Judge Ralph Winkler of the Hamilton County Probate Court and serve three-year terms.
