Kids’ Mystery Fish Challenge Continues at Lake Isabella
This past Monday over the Memorial Day holiday, we had some scattered showers at Lake Isabella – but that didn’t stop 68 kids from participating in our Kids’ Mystery Fish Challenge! It started to sprinkle at little around the lake as the event began, but it didn’t last long and the kids were able to hook a few fish.
Kids weighed in their fish periodically throughout the event, hoping that theirs weighed the closest to the “mystery weight.” At noon the air horn was blown to signal the end of the tournament and that no more fish could be weighed. As the Lake Isabella staff diligently went through all of the weights to figure out who was the closet for each age category, Bass Pro Shops hats and cups were given away to participants.
Then it was time to reveal our winners:
Ages 5 and under: Mystery Weight 0.46lbs, closest with 0.14lbs Greyson Reinhardt
Ages 6-10: Mystery Weight 0.92lbs, closest with 0.62lbs Porter Garrett
Ages 11-15: Mystery Weight 1.87lbs, closest with 0.43lbs Jacob Tewell
Thank you to Bass Pro Shops for sponsoring this great kids event and thank you to all of the kids who came out to Lake Isabella to participate!
Just as a reminder our next Kids’ Mystery Fish Challenge will be held at Lake Isabella on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. Also, it is not too late to sign kids up for the Lake Isabella summer day camps. Fishing Camp 101 will be held June 8–12 and Fishing Camp 202 will be June 29–July 1.
