Thanks to generous lead gifts and hundreds of other contributions, construction has started on the 11-acre Simmonds Family Dog Park at Miami Whitewater Forest. Work started in October 2012. Progress so far includes moving soil for improved drainage, construction of a road and parking lot, and installation of asphalt paving and concrete curbs. Bids have been received for additional work, including concrete for the entry plaza, a large shade structure, waterlines and fencing. The project is on schedule for the opening in spring 2014!  More amenities are needed, such as shade structures, trees, and dog agility areas, so please consider making a contribution to this destination dog park. Your dog will be very grateful!
