Show Time!
Spring is finally here at Winton Woods Riding Center (WWRC)! That means the horses are shedding, the pastures are muddy, and it’s time to spruce up the barns, because our busiest season is about to begin.
The WWRC will hold 5 schooling horse shows this year: April 21, May 19, July 21, September 15, and October 20. The shows will be judged by in-house staff and will focus on the needs of the students who ride all year long at WWRC. Outside riders are welcome to come and ride as true schooling riders.
The October 20 show will also feature our annual Horses Helping Humans Horse Show, which includes Special Riders Program/Special Olympics athletes. This event is extra fun, because it includes a Costume Class with riders and horses in costumes. It’s a chance for us to celebrate all of the tremendous accomplishments of our special riders and Special Olympics athletes over the course of the year.
This year WWRC is also proud to host the first ever Special Olympics Ohio Equestrian State Competition on August 16 and 17. A Hamilton County local qualifying event for the Special Olympics State Competition will be held on Saturday, June 15, at WWRC. The Special Olympics athletes train all year for these events and would love your support and encouragement! Mark your calendars and cheer them to victory!
